This formally repeals the egregious LGC 6.12, under which the previous governor took extraordinary power into his own hands for his own partisan and unconstitutional interests and purposes. This will allow us to fully move on from the Kansas Crisis and establish that it is not to be repeated.

A previous legislature passed a partial repeal, LGC 7.1. While Section 2, 1. which rescinded much of the power contained in LGC 6.12, is obviously good, Section 2, 2. implied that the General Court can disregard the Constitution in certain situations. I don't believe it's appropriate to ever disregard the Constitution, and the section is constitutionally dubious anyways, so that section is repealed.

A previous version of this legislation was criticized for containing an expansion of the criminal code. This legislation contains no such expansion. This is not about punishment or revenge. This is simply a clean repeal of a truly egregious law so that whatever authority it still has can no longer affect the game and to establish that such activities should not be repeated.

Sheesh, we are still discussing that! Anyways I fully support this law. Time to look forward and stop discussing the manufactured crisis that went out of hand
