Fugazi and Rites of Spring are genuinely two of the most influential acts of the 80s American underground, so I think they’d have a fair shout. Not so sure about any of the others…

Agree. But if Sonic Youth is too underground to be in the RRHoF, that rules out Fugazi and Rites of Spring ever actually getting a sniff.

Agree. But if Sonic Youth is too underground to be in the RRHoF, that rules out Fugazi and Rites of Spring ever actually getting a sniff.

Oh yeah, totally agreed that the actual selection criteria for the RRHoF are ridiculous. Plus I’m not sure if any of these bands would really want to be it in anyway, considering that it is primarily a commercial, rather than an artistic, organisation. I’m actually surprised BRTD seems to care so much…

I don't like seeing the lack of attention paid to such bands. Like how I'm angry that Stranger Things doesn't include any references to the Revolution Summer DC emo scene.
