Varies based on the asteroid's size. The smaller it is, the more likely it'll be the second option. The bigger it is, the more likely it'll be the first.

Smaller asteroids seem to be more frequent so the odds are than in your favour. Even if part of your home is destroyed. And even if it is a big one (but not too big otherwise it's not your property anymore), it might simply fall in your garden or you might not be home for example.
