Biden needs to be talking about this every day. It should be national news.

Democrats should run ads with this up and down.

Republicans just block bills for the sake of blocking them, because they can't give Biden a win (even if he's not really involved and just signs it). I'm sure most of the Nay-Voters didn't even read the bill. And some creatures like Manchin and Sinema continue to tell everybody how nuking the filibuster would be a bad thing and that Democrats just have to work with the other side. As if the other side, save a few noble exceptions, has any desire to get common-sense stuff done. I don't know how many times they have to prove this before Manchin gets it. Probably never.

The GOP callousness on this bill despite all their "support the troops" rhetoric shows how full of it they are. They don't care about veterans at all.

Are the American people sick of these games? The GOP is about to take control of Congress unless all the polls are wrong.

The polls suggest a tight race for the Senate at least. The GOP may take back the House but have an overall underwhelming midterm. And honestly, with this deadlocked Congress anyway, I doubt it will be much different.

Biden and the Democrats still got a few things done, and might get more with the recent agreement between Schumer and Manchin. With a Republican House, pretty much nothing gets done. Worse than after the 2010 midterms. The Tea Party guys from then are considered the moderates and adults in the room now, that's how utterly insane the Republican Party has become.

Another important matter will be that if Republicans take over the House, they will launch a series of sham investigations into Biden and his administration, take oxygen from talking about the actual problems facing America and the world (to which they have no substantive answers) and waste millions in taxpayer money for nothing. I think nobody really needs this.

The GOP is such a sh*t party. "You dare to invest in energy and subsidize health insurance, so we are going to vote against same-sex marriage and helping veterans as retaliation"

Really sick people.

This is just outlandishly petty and utterly disgraceful.  Biden's approval rating will decline by 2% points as a result, and swing voters will complain about how Congress never gets anything done because the two parties can't come together.

Toomey seems to be the one leading the opposition to passing the bill as it stands. He supports the $278.5 billion but opposes making some other $400 billion currently discretionary spending into mandatory spending.  I don't know why that's in the bill, might be a good reason, but maybe it's something Democrats can decide they are willing to give up in order to pass the funding directly related to healthcare for burn pit exposure.

This man is still needed. Now more than ever. I still think Hillary would have won if he hadn't quit literally right when Trump started his campaign. (Reason being that I think he was uniquely persuasive among the kinds of young liberal voters who stayed home.) But now he can make up for it by running for office. I don't care if he's the most reluctant political draftee of all-time. We need him. He's a Democrat who can be sharp but warm at the same time, can call out the party's excesses without turning off the activists, can actually relate and talk to ordinary working people and excite the liberal base at the same time... Basically no one else can do all these things at once who I can think of (except the term-limited Obama). He would be an incredible politician. Ideal timeline IMO is still Stewart primarying Menendez in 2018 and winning the presidency against Trump in 2020.

If Dems just were better in defining the GOP as anti-veterans party now. Imagine that vise versa, and remember how well GOP attacks stuck that Dems want to "defund the police", although they never voted against something like that.

Maybe Dems could now also put up a bill to support law enforcement and watch the GOP voting against it for political games. Truly a horrible party that should have zero power in congress.

This goes back to what I've been saying about the narrative--Dems simply seem unwilling to go the length actually tear the Republican Party apart in the same way the GOP has done with them.

Dems should have this playing on every TV and radio station in the damn country. Nothing else, just what the bill does, and a vote breakdown by party. Let it speak for itself.
