Yes, they did.  Some still do, and they are unapologetic, even when the facts of the situation are clear as glass. 

That doesn't make this right.  No one likes a Legacy Frat Boy ridiculing a girl for being overweight, or just plain.  Gaetz's big problem is that even if he's legitimately sorry, he's played the Frat Boy here to the point where no one would believe him.  He's a real life Shallow Hal, and he's stuck with that label now.
