Probably a somewhat swingy area. I’d guess that it voted for Biden in 2020, but Trump in 2016

The precinct that contains Oniontown voted for Trump by a wide margin in both 2016 and 2020. 64.4% R to 33.6% D in 2016, 63.3% R to 35.0% D in 2020.

Huh, that's harder right then usual for upstate New York. I've been in towns throughout the Hudson Valley that are overwhelmingly white and mostly rural yet still at least 60+% for Biden after swinging only slightly to Trump in 2016. I think there's still a lot of ancestral Democrats in that area.

Precincts tend to be more extreme either direction as opposed to counties. It’s kinda the law of big numbers with the latter.

Whatever "ancestral Democratic" character almost any part of Upstate may have had at some point was wiped out in the chaos of Wilson's second term. Most of the Hudson Valley's current Democratic lean came from Vermont-style hippie migration and that of racial minorities leaving NYC + more recent immigrants heading straight there.
