I was gonna vote Keating, but went narrowly with Pataki.

Pataki and he'd be a good president too.

I voted for Thompson, but I wouldn't give any of them a chance in hell.

I'm surprised that Pataki is winning this poll.  Most people expect him to drop out very soon.

Thompson, obviously. Not that Pataki is bad but Guliani is already there. There isn't space for that many NY Republicans. Thompson on the other hand is a Midwesterner, and there is no prominent Midwesterner in the running right now.

A libertarian Republican. His ads appear at the top and bottom of this forum from time to time.

Thank you.

So, not a Republican.

I voted Thompson.  But if I were more confident that Keating was running, I probably would have gone with Keating.

I voted for Pataki because I didn't see Thompson up there till after it was too late.  Ah well.

Thompson, I don't even consider a long shot.  I realize he's not in the same tier as McCain, Romney or Giuliani.  But I think he fits into the second tier of candidates, with Gingrich, Huckabee and so on.

I voted (gulp) for Duncan Hunter.  Sometimes, the very first guy into a race is able to parlay that into a small advantage.  I think Paul Tsongas was first in in 1992 and he gave Clinton a run for his money for longer than expected.

Hunter still has to do something to distinguish himself from the rest of the field and then communicate that to voters in Iowa and New Hampshire.  If he finished in the top three, I'd be surprised -- but not shocked.
