Post-Christmas bowls + playoff

Monday, December 26th
New Mexico State vs Bowling Green – was googling to figure out why this game existed (weird scheduling conflict? canceled game earlier in the season?) only to find that this is a "bowl game" and both teams are "6-6." Seems fake.

Tuesday, December 27th
Georgia Southern vs Buffalo
Memphis vs Utah State – and Utah State is in a bowl? Is this a prank?
Coastal Carolina vs East Carolina
Wisconsin vs Oklahoma State

Wednesday, December 28th
UCF vs Duke
Kansas vs Arkansas
#15 Oregon vs North Carolina
Texas Tech vs Ole Miss

Thursday, December 29th
Syracuse vs Minnesota
Oklahoma vs #13 Florida State
#20 Texas vs #12 Washington

Friday, December 30th
Maryland vs NC State
Pittsburgh vs #18 UCLA
#21 Notre Dame vs #19 South Carolina
Ohio vs Wyoming
#6 Tennessee vs #7 Clemson

Saturday, December 31st
Iowa vs Kentucky
#5 Alabama vs #9 Kansas State
#3 TCU vs #2 Michigan
#4 Ohio State vs #1 Georgia

Monday, January 2nd
#22 Mississippi State vs Illinois
#16 Tulane vs #10 USC
#17 LSU vs Purdue
#11 Penn State vs #8 Utah

This is the tenth time in the last twelve seasons that Utah State has played in a bowl game, so as the forum's leading Aggies fan I'd like for you to show some respect.

Yeah, Utah State is consistently one of the top G5 programs over the last decade. It would be surprising not to see them in a bowl.

With both New Mexico State and UConn in bowls this year, there's not much room to quibble about Utah State. Smiley

With the flood of players in the transfer portal or not playing because they are entering the draft, these choices are tough.

No one wins Fantasy football unless you have Kelce and MaHomes and Zeke Elliott on your team this yr I lost I didn't have Kelce but that's Okay I won last year

#6 Tennessee vs #7 Clemson 8 PM EST ESPN

Saturday, December 31st

Iowa vs Kentucky Noon EST ABC

#5 Alabama vs #9 Kansas State Noon EST ESPN

#3 TCU vs #2 Michigan 4 PM EST ESPN I get that TCU is no slouch, but this just feels like its Michigan's game to lose, and I don't expect a real letdown game here.

#4 Ohio State vs #1 Georgia 8 PM EST ESPN I want to emotionally hedge, but its hard not to believe that Georgia is definitively better than OSU this year. But could I see OSU beating Georgia and then Michigan? I am afraid so...

Monday, January 2nd

#22 Mississippi State vs Illinois Noon EST ESPN2 MSU will have all of the emotion for playing in this game for Coach Leach, so I am not super confident here. But if I have the opportunity to pick Illinois to win a New Years Day Florida bowl game I am going to do it. I-L-L!

#16 Tulane vs #10 USC 1 PM EST ESPN

#17 LSU vs Purdue 1 PM EST ABC

#11 Penn State vs #8 Utah 5 PM EST ESPN This will be a very aesthetically pleasing game to watch for sure.

Oklahoma vs #13 Florida State 5:30 PM EST ESPN Worried about this game; FSU has traditionally played poorly against Oklahoma. A win against a 6-6 team will be disregarded and a loss will be embarrassing

#4 Ohio State vs #1 Georgia 8 PM EST ESPN Perhaps I'm going out on a limb on this one, but I do think Georgia is more vulnerable then people are generally assuming and Ohio State can certainly score points.

Some notes:
- What a great season for TCU! To make the penultimate CFP with only 4 teams with a loss in the CCG shows that great things are likely to come in the future when the expansion to 12 occurs and OU + Texas move to the SEC. Dykes is building an amazing program with our first ever top 20 class likely next year and is making big moves in the transfer portal as well. I was uncertain when the hire was announced last year but it seems like things will work out!

- Purple team magic as well for the future? Kansas State looking good as well.

- One of OU or Texas may finally go off in the SEC in 2024
