Agreed, and I'm sure crabcake is aware of that. As a science teacher, I know that they'll strive to create a stimulating and safe learning environment where every student knows they're deserving of respect and self-love regardless of class, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.

As do children of Evangelical Christians.  That includes a learning environment that is not a sub silentio assault on THEIR religious beliefs.

These two statements are not mutually exclusive.  One can show respect for others without affirming as correct how they live, what they believe in, etc.
