Alberta is more conservative, yes, but the people are nice and the weather is great.

Pei for the politics, but even with the coastline it has trouble competing with Alberta's Beauty with the rockies. Plus you have at least two bona fide major cities in Alberto whereas the largest metro in Charlottetown is less than 40,000 people.

Prince Edward Island but it's close.

I really don't want to live in a right-wing province, but I like having movie theaters and access to a huge city within 250km of where I live. I also would probably prefer to live somewhere with at least 50,000 people and not need to own a car.

Worth noting that even if Alberta is right-wing by Canadian standards, it's still center-left by American standards.

PEI for reasons having nothing to do with electoral history.

Good luck with that, bestie.

Why would you want to live in Calgary? My understanding is that it's like Tulsa but more so.

Anyway my answer is PEI, which is at least pretty and quaint. I do want to see the prairies one day because I'm attracted to fycked places, but not that badly.

Because it gets a lot of emo and hardcore show tour dates. It's kind of obviously the most logical place to play just due to geography if touring Canada. Edmonton might have more non-Conservative areas but because of geography doesn't get as many bands touring, so I'd usually have to drive three hours one way to go to shows if I lived there.

Calgary also has some notable awesome bands like Mortality Rate.

Anyway PEI is off the table for me because where would I go to shows? Like there's a handful in Halifax but even that's a 3 1/2 hour drive one way.

I vaguely recall making a poll once asking who a Christian hardcore band from Calgary likely voted for in the Alberta election where the NDP actually won control.

Integrating into a tiny backwater like PEI is nigh impossible.

PEI is full of welfare queens; Edmonton/Calgary offer much more in terms of amenities.
