It looks like the intermediate result map of a presidential primary after Super Tuesday, but it has nothing to do with politics.

This riddle not easy to solve IMHO, but I'm sure something will catch the nerd's eye, and Atlas is known to be full of nerds...

Here's a little hint: It has to do with science.

Okay, here's a further hint for you both:
The states' names hold the key to the solution...

Kudos to you for your successful investigation! 👏🏻

I thought it would be fun to check for which states that holds true.

PS: Maybe you could hide your answer using the BB code
Code:
[spoiler]
or
Code:
[glow=black,1,1]
so that other users can still join in the guessing.

PPS: Thank you for acting on my advice! 👍🏻

Here are two further questions concerning chemistry and U.S. state names:

1.) What chemical elements are named for U.S. states?

2.) What USPS abbreviation combined with the number of electoral votes of that very state build the chemical formula of a cation?

Very much a scam how Californium's symbol and California's post code don't match. >:(

I feel you, dude! But at least, Calcium had already existed before Californium was discovered/invented in 1950.
There is, however, another synthesized element named for a U.S. state that has not been assigned the postal abbreviation of said state, even though it was still available; and that triggers me so much. 😡

Either this task is too hard for Atlas or no one except me is interested in chemistry.
Anyway, here's the answer: ammonium.
