Crawford County Kansas gave Debs a plurality in 1912.

Debs recieved over 10% in the following Missouri counties: Dunklin (2nd place, 19%), Jasper (10%), New Madrid (12%), Scott (16%), St. Francois (12%), Stoddard (12%)

Alson Streeter of the Union Labor Party recieved over 10% in 16 Missouri counties in 1888. Streeter's best state was Kansas, where he recieved 35% in Labette County. Labette went on to give Debs several good showings

Douglas County gave Wharton Barker of the Populist Party 12% in 1900. Before giving Debs several good percentages.

And basically it appears that Debs bottomed out in a lot of those counties in 1920.

Probably due to the Red Scare or something of the sort.

Any more info worth sharing.

And yeah, Minnesota should be mentioned sometime.

Other stuff: Minidoka County, Idaho gave the Socialists 21% in 1916. And in 2004, it went 81/19 for Bush.

And here's one I made earlier...

The rural counties Debs did best in seem to have been mining/logging/etc areas (no suprise there then), 'though there are also a lot of good results in some more agricultural areas.
There's also an element of Western Protest there methinks.

Shame Dave doesn't have county data for Arkansas and Texas actually.

Debs pulled 25% in Little Dixie, Oklahoma (the 15 counties I used are the ones listed on this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Dixie_%28Oklahoma%29 )

Debs best region in Missouri in 1904 and 1908 was Southwest Missouri.

Al, could you also make a 1920 Debs map sometime? I'd love to compare the two.

Sure; not as many states have county level results though (including Oklahoma, sadly).

Btw, just spotted that Christensen polled 8% in Cambria county, PA.
