Could Pauline Hanson win in Texas as a Republican? She is notoriously xenophobic against Muslims.

More against Asians than Muslims.

Well, that would definitely help her win places like Richardson and Plano...

I'm pretty sure she would honestly. Pauline Hanson may be insane by Australian standards, but given Texas has elected Ted Cruz and Dan Patrick, I doubt she's a bridge too far for Texas. A more interesting question would be if she could win a presidential election.

There aren't enough Aboriginal Australians in Texas to sustain the sheer 387,440,000 million-mile force of animus that keeps her blood flowing, let alone a campaign of hers for office.

There are some native Americans to hate instead. She also could hate Mexicans as well.

I doubt she'd win by much but she could narrowly pull it off for now depending on the political conditions. I don't know if the same could be said 10 years from now though. Even during the peak of the GOP's power in Texas, I doubt policies such as nationalizing banks or protectionism were popular among voters.

My impression of Texan Republicans is that they aren't that racist? Ultra right-wing yes, but it's not all that big on Mexican bashing (not surprising given Texas is ~1/3 Hispanic) and it doesn't seem as blackphobic as other parts of the South.

Plus Ipswich isn't exactly like any cities in Texas....

Here any hatred towards Aboriginals feels more like how racists hate black people rather than Native Americans.

They put the First Nations of Australia into chains much the same way. There are plenty of vitriolic racists in Texas. Some believe in increasing the white birth rate. It’d be tough for her as a Republican though. She’d probably be in a primary challenge but not a general election.

'Indigenous? What do they know about a day's work? Nah, they can go back to where they came from too', said Dibbler, they don't want to work.' 'Good thing for you, though, I can see that', said Rincewind. 'Otherwise they'd be taking your job right?' 'The way I see it, I'm more indigenous than them.'

TBH, in areas with large native populations in the U.S. there tends to be equally strong anti-native racism on the part of white people.
