I'm not sure what to make that really... I do dislike Bush alot - see my sig, though I'm not the biggest left-wing hack around (at least I Don't think so) but this is rather, well, interesting..

Not a surprise, Gore and Kerry won big with people who said that they voted more on issues than "character". Of course the "character" idiots choose Bush. I guess they like fellow cokeheads.

If a study of the voting preferences of violent criminals were done, what do you think it would show?

That they vote just like all other poor people.

As in rarely, but democrat.

I wouldn't call it amusing.

I would call it offensive.

If one were to claim that 7 out of 10 cancer paitents supported Bush, and that the worse their cancer them more likely they were to support him - how would you react to that?

This is not only a cheap partisan smear of Bush, it's a smear on the mentally ill.     It's got so many logical fallicies in it that I wouldn't know where to begin - Apeal to riducule, biases sample, questionable cause, hasty generalization, personal attack, and  so on.

Actually, I would suspect that those with mental illness would be more likely to support individuals who work for mental health parity - in terms of reducing the social stigma of mental illness and improving the access for individuals to heathcare.   Though not universal, that would tend toward economic liberals.

However, these individuals are individuals just like everyone else, and there are a wide variety of factors which are involved in a person's politics.

Now, whether Bush himself is mentally ill (specificly, a "dry drunk")is another matter entierly.

Why dazzleman, when a generalization is made about a group that includes you, suddenly there are all sorts of caveats and nuances... I'm shocked. Tongue

That a large portion of them support Nader?

I would call its content fairly self-evident.

The findings lack statistical validity; the sample was too small and too localized.

I would have thought that most people with very vague ideas of reality would support whoever they know about, so they'd go with the president rather than the challenger, regardless of party. Their desire for stability would also incline them in this direction.
