The Reform party started out as a party made by Ross Perot so he could be on the ballot in 1996. In 2000, Reformists refused to once again nominate Ross Perot. Pat Buchanan has lost the nomination of the Constitution Party, so he decided to run on the Reform ticket. in 2004, they had no official nominee, but independent candidate Ralph Nader was listed as a reform candidate in many states. The Reform Party is dying without its founder Ross Perot. Now it a party without any clear platfom, just backing third-party candidates regardless of philosophy. They will probably either back the CP or LP candidate or back Jesse Ventura
In 2000, Buchanan lost the nomination for the Republican Party, so he went to the Reform Party. The Constitution Party would have given him their nomination, but Buchanan went with the Reform Party because it qualified for Federal Funding based off of Perot's 1996 performance.
