Being that the vote on Ernest's renumbering amendment opened while the old senate was still in session, can the new senate vote on this now, or does someone need to re-open the vote?

There would still be presidential elections. We could also go the way of most US states and elect all the cabinet members directly.


Or, rather than a bicameral parliament, we could have a Senate as now but have all laws requiring passage by both the Senate and the people, and all constitutional amendments requiring two-thirds passage by the Senate and the people.

Thankfully, the new Article 9 of the OSPR covers this.

No legislation needs to be re-introduced, Senate work continues notwithstanding the new members.

Vice President afleitch, as President of the Senate, is now in charge of Senate business - at least until such time as a new PPT is in office.

You may vote on any item which is currently presented for vote and you may change the vote of your predecessor.

I actually had the idea of creating a House that included everyone other than the Senate, President and Vice-President. However, most people are in favor of them being elected.

Here you go:


Demi-Amendment 2

The existing clauses of Article IV Section shall be reordered as follows and then renumbered sequentially:
15, 1, 2, 3, 4, 16, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.


This pushes the reserve clause of the Bill of Rights to the start of the list so that if additional clauses are later added, it doesn't get buried in the middle of the list and moves the clause corresponding to Amendment III of the Second Constitution to where I think it belongs stylistically in the current list.

Article VI Section 1 Clause 1 is struck and replaced by: "1. No person may simultaneously be a Member of the National Assembly, a Senator, or a Justice of the Supreme Court."
