Seems like a nice guy.  He's been a decent, affable Senator so far.  He's pretty liberal, but not unelectably so.

Way too early to tell, though, since they guy hasn't had a chance to do all that much.

He's basically just a typical center-left Democrat, albeit with charisma and likeability. He's probably more left-wing than Hillary Clinton, who I assume you detest. If you don't like Clinton's policies, you probably won't like Obama's.

However, my opinion is subject to change. If it turns out that he's all style and no substance, I'll be disappointed. However, at this point, he seems to have both. But I guess I'll find out in October 2008 during the presidential debates Wink

Affability.  Personality.  I'm not going to say that I like how much it counts, but I'm not going to blame Obama for the attention.  He doesn't seem to be whoring himself nearly as much as another politician might in this situation.
