Church runs a smooth campaign, avoiding the gaffes and charges of inexperience that hurt Carter.



Church wins 324-214 in the electoral count, and 52-46 in the PV.

You can't really compare the two, NC is a solid Republican state, whereas FL in '76 wasn't.

You can't really compare the two, NC is a solid Republican state, whereas FL in '76 wasn't.

If FL barely went to Carter with him at the top of the ticket, I highly doubt it would go to Church with a Floridian at the bottom.
