Quote
The rather pessimistic findings come from a Spectrum News NY1/ Siena poll released Tuesday that show a -35 net favorability rating for the mayor.

The poll found that only 29% of New York City adults think Adams is doing an "excellent" or "good" job as mayor. Just over a third (35 percent) of respondents gave him "fair" marks, while just under a third (29 percent) said he was doing a "poor" job.

“If New Yorkers had a honeymoon with Mayor Adams, it was brief and it’s clearly over. Only 29% give him a positive rating for the job he’s doing as mayor, compared to 64% who give him a negative rating,” said Dr. Don Levy, Director, Siena College Research Institute.

Is "fair" a bad rating?  Seems like an odd poll.  How does that compare to previous NYC mayors?

Another, more accurate and less blatantly and probably deliberately dishonest, way to read this is that he has a 64% approval rating, as "fair" is not "disapprove."

At all.

In fact, it's closer to the opposite. Especially in a place like NYC.

As you know, OP, assuming you are not a total idiot.

The question then is: Why?

Why did you assume everyone here BUT you is a total idiot who can't read basic words, parse their meaning, and do basic math?

Why did you think you could get away with such a blatantly misleading post without anyone calling you out for it?

Well, you failed, whatever your reasons were. Maybe you are just a scumbag partisan. Maybe Russia is paying you to spread disinformation. Many people are saying that, I don't know! I've just heard folks!

Oh, oh, you don't like it when people spread lies and slander about you and do it in an inflammatory way?

Then shut the f--k up, delete this stupid f--king post, reconsider the color of your avatar and the kind of anti-truth sociopaths you support and maybe your life in general before even thinking about posting again.

Then again, if you weren't gonna do that even after (admirably, I guess, sort of) unendorsing Trump two years too late after being SHOCKED that he did, indeed, want Mike Pence to be hung on January 6? Probably nothing will get your head screwed on straight.

Eh, sorry. Forget all that. I mean there's truth to it but it's too aggressive. I'm having a bad night. Not feeling great about the country for a lot of reasons and that's not helping. Probably should log off and try to chill.

That doesn't sound like an approval rating. The only time the word approve appears in the article is the 53% approval rating of the mayor's style.

Yeah, all across the country Rental assistance has ended for COVID relief March 31st and Rents are back to market rate and NY and CA and HI have the most expensive rents that's why politicians have low Approval and it's not gonna get better when people gonna start having to payback Student loans in August

There are so many people that are homeless or had to move in with relatives because there isn't anymore rental assistance and no Section 8 vouchers and people can't afford a studio for 1K anymore along with paying for utilities

Rents has gone thru the roof along with inflation

Being mayor of New York City is such a thankless job. No, the future of the Democratic will be a no-nonsense, pragmatic guy who somehow manages to get elected in "Real America" and doesn't lose touch with his roots once he starts eyeing the presidency. It likely won't be a congressman and it certainly won't be a big-city mayor.

Every New York City Mayor is hated after about a year. It’s tradition for them.

Honestly “fair” is a pretty good mark from New Yorkers

For the record, 35% thought he was doing at least Fair. That's a total of 64% who believe he's doing fair or better. Only 29% believe he's doing a poor job.

"Fair" is admittedly rather amorphous ranking and this poster should have done perhaps a better job in delineating approval vs. Disapproval. All that said, this is a rather misleading headline and article.

Siena having the fair category always makes their numbers impossible to understand. I don’t know why they have to include such an ambiguous term. That’s what the not sure or neither is for.

Doesn't fair have neutral/positive connotations?

He was always looked up to by D's because Cory Booker should of been Prez not Biden as we found out that Biden lied about getting rid of COVID and consensus with D's and Rs he has done everything thru Reconciliation and couldn't get Sinema on board with Voting Rights but the reason why we have a tied Sen because Tara Reade hurt our D female candidates especially Gideon in ME we could of had a 51/49 S and passed Voting Rights without Sinema

But, Cory Booker could of done what Biden did duplicate the blue wall, but no one is running against Biden in 24 that's just media obsession with taking 24 polls not including Biden, Biden is running unless he is impeached by the H, so all the D's have to wait til 28

He's still going to win reelection quite handily in 2025.
