Alessandria Biaggi is out of NY-03 and jumping into NY-17 against SP Maloney.

As much as I want LGBT’s in congress…
SPM is too neoliberal-Clintony, let’s go Biaggi!

Don't get too excited. Biaggi will flip the seat to Republicans if she needs to.

The 17th is Biden +10 and the 18th is Biden +8 although the 18th is much weaker by Clinton/Cuomo numbers because the 17th has Rockland

Lets see if this hopefully scares SPM back to the 18th. If so, Jones comes back, Biaggi might conditionally withdrawal, and the game of musical chairs will continue.

This may not matter. Suburban reversion with Trump's 2020 performance with the Orthodox will be a very toxic combo for Dems in 2022.

So stupid. She doesn't live anywhere near this district and wouldn't stand a chance in this primary. As stupid as Mondaire Jones running in NY-10. Maloney isn't Jeffrey Klein, and this district isn't the Bronx.

Isn't her district in Southern Westchester?

Apparently, another progressive who's pro-defund the police and seeking to join the Squad to make things harder for Biden. The buck has to stop somewhere, though. Solidly rooting for Rep. Maloney here.

Seems like a bone-headed move from both a career and partisan perspective.

Still think it's Lean D for now. Trump p much got close to the max possible margin with the Orthodox community in 2020; even a slight reversion like we saw in Lakewood NJ in the 2021 Gov would help. Also these aren't your "moderate" Collin County type suburbs but rather more liberal white MA type suburbs where Biden has been polling pretty well; it's really Putnam county and the Orthodox community keeping it close

At least Biaggi isn't running in NY-03 but overall I don't like her as a politician and think she'd still; be a bad fit for this district. SPM should win the primary with relative ease against her imo unless there's some big scandal against him.

I think I still support her since Maloney is the one who started this stupid musical chairs thing in the first place (plus, to my understanding, he’s the mastermind behind the initial map up in the first place). One man consistently abusing party resources for his own personal benefit is someone who needs to be removed as soon as possible.

She lives in Westchester but her Senate district is mostly in the Bronx with only a small part in Westchester.

Eh, she's more of a standard CPC member then someone who'd join The Squad. There is nothing about 'defunding the police' on her campaign page. Plus her work prior to running for the State Senate was working for Andrew Cuomo and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

I think she shoudl have angled for the lt. gov. spot, running with Hochul on an all-female ticket. Could have been a viable contender for gov in 2026 or 2030 then when the former retires.

No lol, SPM is just an idiot. I have no idea why tf he wanted to connect Staten Island to Manhattan instead of West Brooklyn. Did he even ask his fellow incumbents Nadler/Carolyn Maloney what they wanted? Well its either that or he was trying to be Ron DeSantis without any of the actual power.

The Working Families Party has endorsed Biaggi in the primary. They previously endorsed Maloney but switched-
