Paterson because it's like 15 minutes from where I live now.

Gross.

But those who are choosing Paterson are perhaps rather unfamiliar with its particular panorama of drear.

But it's also not Staten Island.

I was surprised to like NJ when I was in it. Paterson looks beautiful.

Probably Patterson. Such an alive in Traverse City. Staten Island other than its Sri Lankan population in the Tompkinsville neighborhood is basically a black and Latino North 3rd, a largely White South half, and the sliver between being somewhat mixed. And, of course, it's Staten Island

Basically all of the positive things about Paterson are true of Staten Island but Staten Island has pluses which aren't true of Paterson--it's safer, has strong public transit, and is closer to the city.

There are parts of Staten Island which basically vote like Paterson though. Obviously I wouldn't pick Southern SI but northern SI is basically comparable to Paterson in most respects except the amenities I referenced above.

Staten Island's geography is fascinating to me so I'll have to go with there.

Though Paterson is in the same state I was born as, and a little closer to my birthplace than Staten Island, gotta go with Staten Island on this one. Sorry BRTD.

Staten Island has the highest point on the American tidewater. Please write that down for future reference.

Update: Visited St. George in SI today and found it quite nice! Unexpectedly very steep; was almost reminded of Pittsburgh. Seemed like an interesting neighborhood and surprisingly convenient if one was commuting into lower Manhattan given the proximity to the Ferry. Decidedly urban in land use too which was a bit of a surprise; I was expecting it to be a bit less dense. Could easily see myself living in Staten Island if I moved to New York.

Oh, and gave Biden higher numbers than Paterson; 81.6-16.9.

Paterson has gotten a bad rap all my life, but it isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. It still has its problems but just by virtue of its closeness to where I already live, I'll have to go with it.

was the new jersey one the one where War of the Worlds was?

No. That was Grover's Mill. It's in Mercer County.

Staten Island.  Totally stereotyping here, but I've always had a major thing for New York Italian guys.

I dated a  couple Italian girls from NYC, pretty sure one was connected to the mob because she was super rich, her mom was a stay at home mom and her dad worked in keeping the roads clean. The other one's mom is one of the anchors on WNBC. Really interesting to say the least lol.
