I'd much rather he die at the end of a rope.

Hot take: I think he'll get off like Kyle Rittenhouse did.

I understand pessimism, but c'mon....the kid wrote a White Power manifesto and the shooting in no way can be construed as self-defense. Plus, the jury will be Buffalo residents I'm assuming? He'll likely never know freedom again.

SnowLabrador is the kind of guy who would say "The devil is definitely going to win" at Judgment Day with Jesus coming down from the heavens before his eyes.

Seriously though: What even justification besides blind trolling doomerism IS there even for such an absurd position? That's not like saying Derek Chuavin would get off, which even I believed until near the end of the trial. It's like saying Dylann Roof would get off! Makes no sense whatsoever.

No, the next Republican president will pardon him.

I think he should be executed but that's not a popular position any longer.

It's not so much that I disagree with the death penalty (I'm perpetually undecided on the issue), but that I think executing him would give the far-right another martyr to worship and aspire to. On the other hand, life in prison and the kid is just forgotten about entirely.

He should have gotten the death penalty like his fellow terrorists Timothy McVeigh and Dylann Roof.

Still possible - federal terrorism charges.

There's some talk that recently passed and thought to be largely symbolic Federal anti-lynching law might apply here.

To answer the question, even if he doesn't get the death penalty the chances whoever be paroled are slim to nail given the gravity and infamy of the crime.

Knowing how things have been trending with the criminal justice system in my state, no.

I totally agree.

Can you be executed in New York State?

Obviously yes, what kind of circumstance would mean he gets to die outside prison?Huh

(Unless you want to count something like home arrest when he is in his 80s for humanitarian reasons but even then I doubt he would apply or qualify for that)
