This is a simple bill that repeals two far-left laws enacted under the OBD administration. The first law mandates that firms allocate an arbitrary percentage of their profits to their employees. The law was not supported by any economic policy research. It is blatant government overreach into the internal affairs of firms that can only hamper Atlasia's economic growth. There are much better alternative ways to increase wages. This law is just reckless.

The second law is nothing less than robbery of Atlasian shareholders. It took away the majority of their voting power and gave it to employees, which is the fundamental tenant of socialism. Investors are crucial in driving innovation in the private sector, and now that they are restricted to a minority of voting power, we can expect much less growth and prosperity in the Atlasian economy.

Please consider supporting this bill to stop Atlasia's dangerous spiral into a command economy.

OBD signed these laws but didn't have much to do with them, iirc. Anyway, I don't support the repeal of either.

Agreed. I had the honor of authoring and overseeing the passage of these bills during the 108th Senate and I can say that they were historic measures on behalf of the people of this country, and in particular the working people of this country. These two bills have raised wages, arrested growing income inequality, and gave workers a stronger voice within their workplaces. These bills empowered working men and women like never before.

Notably, a lot of the sponsors’ advocacy is patently false. Shareholders still maintain a majority of their voting power (in fact they have 60 percent). But sadly, for some in this chamber, anything other than workers having 0% is unacceptable.

Repealing those reforms will result in pay cuts and lower wages for Atlasians, it will silence, sideline, and marginalize workers. It will make this country poorer and more unequal. It will take wealth out of communities and concentrate it in the hands of those who already have so much. The Senator speaks of “robbery”, but the real robbery here is of the Atlasian people. Lower pay and more inequality: that shall be the outcome. I ask my colleagues to join me in voting this drivel down.

If I'm not mistaken what we eventually arrived at for the WRA was a minimum of two-fifths, not necessarily 60% in all cases as WD is claiming. I basically agree with the argument for repealing Wage Fairness though, that was very poorly executed.

Aye, but if the broader act passes it will not just be the fault of the right but also those on the left who did immense damage to the left-wing cause.
