Quote
Attorney John Eastman urged Republican legislators in Pennsylvania to retabulate the state’s popular vote — and throw out tens of thousands of absentee ballots — in order to show Donald Trump with a lead, according to newly unearthed emails sent in December 2020, as Trump pressured GOP lawmakers to subvert his defeat.

This recalculation, he posited in an exchange with one GOP state lawmaker, “would help provide some cover” for Republicans to replace Joe Biden’s electors from the state with a slate of pro-Trump electors, part of a last-ditch bid to overturn the election results.

It seems like every week, we get more evidence that what happened in the run-up to January 6th was not any sort of election dispute, not even a desperate and crazed one, but a straight up coup attempt.

My greatest concern is that the last of legal consequences will encourage another (and likely more successful) Republican coup.

Changing the numbers for no apparent reason would be a state and federal crime.

He also used his CU Boulder email (because he was serving as a visiting professor there) for this, but hey, to be fair to CU, they invited & approved of him because they wanted a lesson in conservative thought & policy, & they sure as hell got one.

Lest we forget: "All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state."

It's a shame he wasn't impeached for that too.

The inclusion of "would help provide some cover" really gives away exactly what was going on here.

Everyone involved in this whole election nullification scheme should be barred from ever serving in public office for the rest of their lives.

So what was this guy thinking? What motivated him to try and commit fraud? Was he under the influence of anybody we know? Will he be held accountable for his actions?

"Just a random dude, who cares?"

"It didn't happen and Biden was inaugurated, so calm down. Where's the problem?"

"But there were irregularities in the election."

"This was too far, but he had legitimate points."

"He was just joking."

"There's no proof he actually wanted to do this."

Where are the Republicans?

I mean, they're all pro-America right? So where are they? Shouldn't they be denouncing this? If they're pro-America, they should have no problem coming here and denouncing this and admitting that Trump attempted a coup.

Right?

Yeah, but some crazy leftist on Twitter (at least I think they're leftist) said that all white people are implicitly biased and need to reflect on their internalized racism, and that's much more indicative of a problem in the U.S. and more worthy of my attention.

Yes and no.
I think the concentration here, is because he went on a recent kick of debating that the 2020 election was not conducted "by iNTeRnaTionAL StaNDaRDs of voting."
LOL.
