This creates a voluntary certification board for animal groomers to assist consumers and its cost neutral.

As someone who has experience on the pet specialty retail end, and experience in pet grooming, many pet owners have likely heard stories of dogs dying in grooming salons, from big box stores such as PetSmart and Petco, or even independent grooming salons. Bills like this would not only ensure peace of mind for pet owners putting their trust in pet groomers (a vital service for many dog breeds, and for pet owners who for any reason may not be able to groom their pets themselves), as well as ensure that we are setting up grooming salons in the South for success, ensuring that their groomers are well trained and educated prior to working on live animals.

A final vote on this bill is now open for 72 hours, or until 24 hours after this has enough votes to pass or fail, or until everybody votes, whichever occurs soonest.
