Pursuant to Executive Order 56-08, Wxtransit is nominated to the position of Secretary of State. As the President of the Senate is not available due to having assumed the Presidency as of yesterday, the rules state that I, as PPT shall bring nominations to the floor and open confirmation hearings.

The nominee shall make an opening statement.

I will keep my remarks brief here as well, as I have a tendency to write very long.

I gladly accept President UTN's nomination for the role of Secretary of State. We have many crisies that we must address, including the damaging of Atlasia's reputation throughout the world as a result of the former President's self-coup attempt and the Taiwan-China crisis. In addition, I will keep a close working relationship with the next GM, whomever the President chooses to appoint.

If any Senators would like to get a taste of my longer writing and my views on foreign policy, I will provide a link to my confirmation hearing from several months ago for this role: https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=462509.0.

I will say that clearly, we need to find a more engaging way to present foreign policy to the people. I will make that a priority of mine if confirmed in this role.

I will also take this space to announce that I likely only intend to serve in this role if confirmed through the rest of President UTN's term, if even that long. I will not limit myself to this timeline if circumstances arise, but I see my role as more of a caretaker SoS, and particularly as given my recent election to the Mountain West Senate seat, I do not want to have my attention divided too greatly and fail both roles.

I thank the President for her confidence and the Senate for your time.

WxTransit's leadership in the last month or more now has been amazing and is a testament to the devotion to the constitution and rule of law, such that I would view the nominee as having a unique qualification added on top of an already impressive resume.

I don't envy the task, especially in having to clean up the foreign policy mess that Crane has created, but there are few I think more suited to the task.

The nominee has my support.
