I'm applying for a new transcription job, because Rev kinda sucks and even professionals have had their accounts terminated there due to punitive graders who each differ in their expectations, so I had to take a typing test again and submit it as part of my application at a new firm. (Which is a tad ironic, because in transcription you will often find that typing speed is the least of your concerns when the number one goal is accuracy and you are usually expected to research names and terms whenever possible.)

I type at about 700 wpm, except when it needs to be intelligible, in which case it's about 80.  (I've always said that Typing was the single most useful class I took in high school.)

I've always felt the same. I've come close to 110 WPM when typing from a literary source (or from my own mind).

Yeah I'm pretty good at typing to say the least... too bad it's not exactly a skill in high demand unless you wanna be a secretary or transcriptionist. And indeed a lot of that work is being automated or outsourced nowadays.
