Btw you guys think I’m super right wing on this issue , but whenever these types of issues get discussed with my parents and other family members I usually am the most liberal member in the group on these types of issues .

That is an absolutely idiotic comparison. No one here save yourself gives a rat's ass whether you are more  Or less liberal than your parents. If it's a far right and above all stupid policy, then The In fact some of your family may be even more right wing and/or stupid proves nothing.

OSR has implied in the past that he's the only person in his immediate family who doesn't have a full MUSLIM AND CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE perspective on Indian domestic politics, so I don't see any reason to believe his relatives are a worthwhile point of comparison on American domestic politics, either.

In any case, he's doing a valuable service for the forum by dramatizing the sheer idiocy of the "climate change is bad but the state doing anything about it would be even worse" mindset. Also, vanity spaceflights like the ones Elon Musk is known for dump more greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere in one go than whole fleets of cars do in months.

The reference to genocide was a reference to an old-as-the-Stone-Age 4chan meme, but sure, the BJP is not literally genocidal. Just pogrom-happy when it suits.

What’s your opinion on Likud then

Extremely negative.

Things like the CAA are not at all what the liberal media claimed . It actually is a good example of how the media treats the right all across the world now and Modi like DeSantis is extremely adept at responding to BS narratives
LOL, the media is too easy on the right wing, if anything. Especially in the USA.

Muh horse race.

This might be less the case in India, where my understanding is that the BJP is genuinely at odds with the country's institutional structure in a lot of ways, but in the US the media absolutely bends over backwards to present the Republican Party as absolutely anything other than the increasingly far-right gang of thieves and killers that it's become over the past few decades.

Fuzzy's definitely presenting a particular...slant on this issue, but he's right that humanities and social sciences faculties in most universities these days are much more ideologically homogeneous than in the past. The problem is that neither he nor anybody else has articulated a compelling reason to believe that making professors easier to dismiss would solve this rather than worsening it. They couldn't get rid of Allan Bloom because he had tenure. They can't get rid of Camille Paglia because she has tenure. There's little reason to believe that this new law would benefit people in situations similar to, or with reputations similar to, Bloom's and Paglia's.

You are right though that I have changed . I have seen how the left has utterly ruined my city and state , they have weaponized institutions that used to be viewed as “non political” in this country to ram down their social agenda ,  and want to demonize people who hold socially traditional views and the fact is I no longer believe we should just accept this and instead believe we should fight back using all the power we have .

I do want to thank Conservacord for helping open my eyes
Imagine being a grown man getting radicalized by a Discord server, lmao.

I haven’t been radicalized at all as many of the views I have been expressing were views I have always had deep down , and from time to time expressed it before . It basically just helped me express some of the frustration I was feeling to many events without being attacked by so many posters on here .

Okay, but this is what lots of people who have been radicalized say.

Being a Socialist is a far more radical view than any view of OSR.

Not in the Albany area it isn't.

I think OSR has an unfair reputation as a Trump hack when he's not. While he's conservative, he's very pragmatic about it and is known to debate some of the more conservative users on various issues.

This is true. The big issue with OSR is that he has less facility than a lot of other posters when it comes to debating politics in terms different from those dictated by the half-baked conventional wisdom of the moment. He comes across as a refugee from a universe where political debate never evolved past people like James Carville and Dick Morris yelling at one another on Face the Nation.

On education I think we should just go back to how stuff was taught in 2012 which was not that long ago and I support doing that across the board regardless of subject . Same reason I oppose most of the new creative leaning methods too

Most other countries have abandoned the " old " teaching methods.

My mom has this quote she uses : “The researchers in this field have a 0% success rate in whatever thing they have gotten added into education “.

What's your mom's background with the subject?

Okay, good to know. It's good practice to establish these things early in the conversation to avoid the perception that you're deferring to an irrelevant authority.
