That’s exactly what I am doing now , cause I no longer am afraid of posting many of my own views anymore . Conservacord  btw is an atlas server where we have internal debates on the direction conservatives should go in and we have vehement debates as well .

My Position  has always been schools should address kids the way the parents want them to be addressed and not be involved in any sort of treatment without direct parental consent first . Also sports should be organized based on biological sex and not gender identity cause biological sex absolutely plays an impact on sports results .

This is not a radical view at all and is in fact a common sense belief . In fact like Bill Maher said 5 years ago it would be considered a mainstream center-left positon. The fact is the left has moved way further left on these issues than the right has moved right.

The question on issues of rights in regards to culturally moderate conservatives is always not if they oppose the specific bills where their movement inevitably goes too far (which we war. It's if they're willing to take a stand. Thinking that cancel culture is a greater threat to society than actual action to dehumanize women and LGBT people is a reactionary position just as much as Greg Abbott's attempt to make Texas into Hungary.

If you oppose the Texas bill, we warned you- a bill that forces trans children to be subjugated to their parents is always followed by a bill that subjugates parents of trans children to the conservative state, a bill that blocks discussion of the LGBT community in schools is always followed by a push to put a special warning on LGBT content, and then by a push to ban any LGBT content Russia style. As for the mainstream position a few years ago- a decade ago it was a mainstream position on the left to oppose same sex marriage. Arguing that trans youth should be forced to give up their identity on the whims of transphobic parents in their most vulnerable years is an even more loathsome position, because it directly causes death (which is the goal of people like Abbott, of course).

The main point is- we live in a certain moment in time. Elements on the left are going too far on a several issues which impacts social discourse without legislative implications. Meanwhile, a majority of the right are actively and successfully assaulting the rights of LGBT people and women using legislative and governmental tools. And that's without talking about how elements on the right tried to overturn a democratic election and are currently supported by the majority of the right. This is the two sides of the culture war. Pick your side. You can certainly oppose the former and I encourage you to do so, but if you think the former is more dangerous than the latter, that's a problem.

If Democrats go all in on these issues, I can tell you that would actually cause the immigrant community to vote majority Republican cause this is something that would be a deal breaker .

As for abortion, my view is center right but if you ask me to choose between a complete ban and complete legalization, I will chose the ban.

If you support that too, you'll get a bill to arrest parents who do support their trans children. It's a direct line. If you let them ban abortions, they'll ban contraception. If you support a don't say gay bill, you'll soon get a don't show gay in TV bill, and then a same sex marriage ban, and then sodomy laws. Also the same thing can be literally said about social liberals as well with this "slippery slope" argument and I disagree with conservatives when they make this point about liberal policies. Policies should be judged on how you think it effects society not on whether its the "socially conservative" position or "socially liberal" position.

The reason I oppose the Texas Bill is cause I believe it bans parents from being able to provide their kids with puberty blockers not cause of the school stuff. I 100% think schools should be required to address kids with however their parents want and should not be involvement in any sort of treatment without parent consent. It is even more outrageous that stuff like this is being done in elementary schools and should absolutely be banned there .

This view btw is pretty much held not only by my parents but all of my friends parents as well , many of whom are Democrats. Parental rights imo are a fundamental right and I will oppose any attempt to roll that back and so will the American people. If Democrats go all in on these issues, I can tell you that would actually cause the immigrant community to vote majority Republican cause this is something that would be a deal breaker .

As for abortion, my view is center right but if you ask me to choose between a complete ban and complete legalization, I will chose the ban.

And this right here is the issue with moderate appeasement of the social conservative movement. If you let them ban teachers from addressing students with their preferred pronouns, you'll get a provision forcing teachers to report it to parents. If you support that too, you'll get a bill to arrest parents who do support their trans children. It's a direct line. If you let them ban abortions, they'll ban contraception. If you support a don't say gay bill, you'll soon get a don't show gay in TV bill, and then a same sex marriage ban, and then sodomy laws. And suddenly, you live in Hungary (which if you notice is where CPAC are taking notes right now).

What I listed out are what my beliefs are on this issue and are nothing to do with political calculation here. We still have very diverse opinions and vehemently disagree all the time . The reason it opened my eyes is a few  posters on there were able to convince me on a couple issues and that combined with all the other things that i mentioned changed my outlook when it came to social issues .
