I can't really see Spain doing so. The New World and the Phillipines were easier to conquer and more profitable than North Africa. The Treaty of Tordesillas (1494) that divided the non-European world between Portugal and Spain put Africa in the Portugese half. (Indeed, the Portugese did control the Moroccan coastal cities for a good portion of the 16th century.) Spain didn't finally deal with the morisco problem until they gave up trying to convert them and simply expelled them in 1609. Had they tried to conquer North Africa, their morisco problem would have been even worse. By the time Spain was in a position to realistically consider furthering the conquest in the mid-17th century, it wasn't in any shape to do so.
One would have to prevent the discovery of the Americas for a while longer in order to get the Spanish to attempt a North African conquest, and that would have ripples of world-wide significance.
