Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne is leading 52-48% in her constituency.

Source? Le Monde doesn't have any results in for that constituency.

The Interior Ministry website has her ahead 52.4% to 47.6%, with 96% counted.

Grim and depressing results on the whole from the partial figures we have, as funny as President Jupiter losing his majority is.

RN are winning seats - plural - that Macron won in round 2. That should tell you a few things where transfers are coming from. I though 1 such victory was possible.

And somehow, despite all this, Ensemble wins Ardennes 1.

RN wins Marne 2 - urban Reims verses LFI. Its like the cordon went down around RN and up around LFI specifically.

Now, will NUPES remain united or break apart? Because, if after the elections the alliance breaks apart, there is the real possibility that the "leader of the opposition" will be Le Pen, not Mélenchon.

It is funny how everyone is cross-voting for LR.   I guess they are the most non-threatening bloc.

Richard Ferrand, president of the National Assembly, is narrowly defeated in Finistère-6. Good riddance.

Christophe Castaner, leader of the LREM group and former interior minister (before rapey Darmanin), is defeated in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence-2. Good riddance as well.

If/when it breaks then there is the possibility Macron approaches PS+EELV instead of LR to further drive that wedge vs LFI, but its less likely.

Every seat in Pyrénées-Orientales is won by RN. Give them back to Spain.

Basically, only LR/RN runoffs were bad for RN. Jesus.

Aisne 3rd continues to be a meme constituency and re-elects its PS incumbent.

I do not understand why voters that would vote for a Prez with below 40% approval ratings to stop Le Pen then vote for RN.  I assume this is more about NUS voters and ENS voters seeing each other as the main enemy and RN as the secondary enemy?

If the 'glass ceiling' for the RN is broken in the runoffs, or legislative elections, honestly it's Macron's fault, in good part. Their rhetoric largely contributed to legitimizing the far-right as an acceptable option when up against the left.

Disgusting stuff. I already regret voting for that slimy bastard.

RN wins Seine-et-Marine 6. Yeah, the cordon was somewhat transferred to the radical Left and RN got transfers. lots of transfers, this is a seat Macron won by more than 10 points. D-A probably wins in Essonne.

No i don't. But I didn't want a majority for Macron. I've said my reasoning already. Le Pen could impossibly do well, i mean this was beyond expected for them (unrealistic but it happened), and they still have only 90 seats.

Macron losing was the priority today.

You had to hold your nose down and vote far-right in ENS vs RN match-ups because RN is still weak even after this. ENS is strong anyways, because they have the president and they have an advantage because of the cordon sanitaire and the electoral system. An ENS majority is not representative of the nation.

In LCI, pundits are already saying that this Parliament will not last, and that Melénchon's speech was the "kick off" speech for a snap legislative election campaign.

I've said it for basically since 2017 and everyone here was like the biggest fan of Macron.

I should've renamed myself. #NeverMacron.

Glad you are realizing this.

Wow, that is above expectations for the far-right and Le Pen. She will be for sure back in 2027 and without Macron, who knows what it can happen.

Hahaha, it seems as if the RN may have *lost* Pas-de-Calais-3 to NUPES' candidate, the PCF mayor of Avion (a Communist stronghold in the mining basin). A big blow to the Narrative.
