So what have we learned in this election that provides clues about the swing states in 2008? Any ideas, or is it too big a leap to draw connections between the two?

Once we can successfully digest which parts of the wave were anti-Bush (Indiana as an obvious example) or anti-Republican, we might start with some predictions.

Of course, a lot about which states are competitive tends to weigh on the candidates themselves and the type of coalition they build.
