Today marks another significant milestone in the built up to the 37th America's Cup as we are now 90 Days away from the 1st America's Cup Preliminary Regatta in Vilanova i La Geltrú which will be raced in the newly built one-design AC40 Class from September 14th to September 17th 2023.

In selecting Vilanova i La Geltrú as the venue for the first preliminary regatta on the road to AC37 in Barcelona, we found the perfect local partners and our thanks go to Pendennis Vilanova who are providing spectacular marine facilities both on and off the water for the teams and visiting super yachts, to the impressive waterside La Daurada complex for providing the world-class AC Club hospitality facilities plus the AC media centre and to the Club Nautic de Vilanova who are the hosting yacht club and providing working space for the event organisers and officials.

Today the US-Based America's Cup Challenger American Magic/NYYC became the 2nd Challenger to commence Sailing Operations out of the Official Venue of the 37th America's Cup, Barcelona.

Swiss-based Challenger Alinghi Red Bull Racing had been operating out of the Catalonian Capital since last August.

INEOS Britannia is expected to be next and resume sailing on August 1st!

„This is a very important step for the team, we’re really excited to be in Barcelona and to have hit the water, raised the sails and jumped up on the foils.
As we pulled Te Rehutai out of the shed to launch, there were a few people on their tip toes getting photos of the boat over the base fence. Then, towing out to the racecourse area it was quite surreal because it was just over a year ago that Barcelona was named as the 37th Americas Cup venue, and just over a month or so ago we were sailing in Auckland. It just goes to show the strength of the team we have and  the ability to get things done. But, what we have done to date isn’t nearly enough to win the America’s Cup. There is still a massive amount to achieve in the next year- and especially in the next few months while we are here, including the first official racing in Vilanova i La Geltrú in precisely 2 months’ time.“
