I agree, Webb is closing... it's not impossible - Ford has been getting closer for the last hour.

Those voter intimidation calls may have won it for Allen.

Here's a question that I've wondered: is there any recourse for a candidate that is suspected to have lost through criminal tactics by people not affiliated with his or her opponent's campaign?  That is, can they do anything, or do they just charge the people involved and then let the opponent win anyway?

Because if it's the latter, that seems kind of messed up.

I'm also not asking because I want to overthrow Allen's victory, for anyone who is planning on calling me a partisan hack as a result of the above question. Tongue

Who is calling Virginia? Norfolk and Richmond still have a ton of precincts to count.

After watching Virginia come in, I'm refusing to even consider exit polls anymore, because they make me too hopeful. Tongue

Webb is now leading Allen, albeit narrowly, with 0.08%.  This is with more than 92% precincts reporting.

VA does not have early voting if I recall correctly. As far as absentee ballots, not sure if they have been counted or not.

Casey won by 24%. Much bigger margin than the polls were showing. I can't believe he beat Santorum by that much.

Still some Arlington and Richmond to go.  Webb won't win but it'll likely get within 15,000 which will scare networks away from projecting it.

I can tell by Keystone Phil's rather conspicuous absence from this thread....

All the results are not in yet.  The D areas come in first.

Forgive me, but from what source?

Here, though it might have changed since the last time I checked it.

I just found it odd that Webb went from down 30000 to leading to down 20000 in a matter of seconds.

Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties still haven't had all their precincts counted yet -only around 28% of PW have reported, along with about 45% for Loudoun.

91% reporting Allen holds a 1% lead.  Several small counties still out; half of Arlington still out.
