Just crossed my mind that there was never an identical map since 1820 in any election. Could see a scenario, in which Trump (most likely) wins the 2024 election by exactly flipping back the 5 states Biden managed to take back in 2020? And in 2028, after another 4 years of Trump, the Dem candidate winning back the Rust Belt trio and GA & AZ?

Tbh, I think not likely of course, but far from impossible.

I actually think the hardest Trump state for Republicans to win back in 2024 will be Michigan; it would flip after AZ/GA.

I actually think the hardest Trump state for Republicans to win back in 2024 will be Michigan; it would flip after AZ/GA. 

I also think Nevada flips before Michigan in 2024.

We'll it did swing by more than the country, even if it is still 1 point, instead of 4 points more Republican.

It's not impossible, but it is quite unlikely, especially given NE-02. I don't think that would flip Republican unless they're doing quite a bit better nationally than they did in 2016.

Not exactly with the way those states are changing. I'm not sure Wisconsin '28 would go Democrat in a race that close, for example.
