So I guess this is as good a time as any to say that my PA-ticket was Oz/Mastriano/DelRosso (etc. etc.).

Are you joking?

I should also note that Schrader was already an under-performer to begin with even before he was doing stuff like calling Trump’s second impeachment “a lynching” and voting against BBB.

Yeah, let's just acknowledge that this being the most competitive District in oregon, a highly relative term, in what's likely to be a republican wave year, makes the district lean to likely democratic. It probably wouldn't have been any different with Schrader. Frankly this might give Democrats a slight leg up as long as Schrader doesn't pick up his marbles and go home and refuse to be a good loser to support the nominee. Frankly a lot of party activists and donors would have sat on their hands rather than help him in november.

Regardless, even if Chavez-Deremer somehow pulls off an upset, she's likely to be a one-term rental seatholder.

STOP THE STEAL

I don't care what issues there are with college campus wokeness, the receding of covid causing inflation, etc etc. The fact that an overwhelming percentage of Republicans would vote to have this guys their nominee again, and near North Korean vote levels would support putting this would be dictator back in the White House just so they don't have to deal with sleepy Joe blah blah blah, just disqualifies the Republican party from participating in any serious discourse about this country'sfuture.

Because it's among the most hardcore conservative right-wing counties in the entire state. Top five at least.

I already viewed the PA-GOV, PA-SEN Races as certain loss for Republicans.

Trump should not endorse McCormick for the GE if he wins.

Republicans shouldn't spent a dime in PA. If McCormick wins he can self-fund and see how far he gets with it.

Republicans have better shots winning GA, AZ, NV and even NH before PA.

From your lips to God's ears, though I'm not nearly as optimistic.

Is there a large grassroots movement on the left in Oregon?

Yes, it's called most of Northwest Oregon, AKA where oregonians generally live.

Also: SnowLab, I owe you an apology.  While your trademark dooming can be a bit tiresome, you were right in your early-night forecast that McCormick would overperform expectations.  Shout-out to Xing as well.

My guess is that you voted for them in order to make it easier for Democrats to win in November? The thing is, they may still win given the environment but multiple other posts probably already exists that have already described why they may still win, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Overall this was a good night for progressives. Also Summer Lee shows that Nina Turner is just a bad campaigner

Just occurred to me that Cawthorn being ousted means AOC will be the youngest House member again, correct?

There are a couple possible candidates who are younger - Bo Hines in NC-13, Matthew Foldi in MD-06 and Karoline Leavitt in NH-01.

Jessica Cisneros would be younger, should she win the primary and general, which is definitely possible. I guess there's at least some other candidate born after October 1989.

I vividly recall Turner being asked I think on the night of the 2016 California primary asking how Sanders could still win the nomination despite being well behind in delegates, and she responded with something along the lines of "Clinton has the math, but Sanders has the social studies."

I proceeded to just stared blankly at my television thinking for a minute or two thinking "This is an election, and we figure out who won those with math, what on earth are you talking about?"

Truly amazing what actually supporting Joe Biden does for your electoral prospects.

There’s not really much of a difference in ideology/beliefs between the two, Lee just knows how to keep her mouth shut and not broadcast her unpopular opinions.

I don’t know how old Cassy Garcia is, but she might be younger too.

Madison Gesiotto is also younger. As is Colin Schmitt in NY. So is Alek Skarlatos, though he’s a long shot.

If you don’t mind me asking, I was just curious, why did you vote for them?

Probably sarcasm
