Joy Hofmeister got the nod for OK-Gov.
She was literally a Republican until a year ago or something.

Yep, she switched parties back in October, over disagreements with the way Stitt handled COVID and education policy.

As a statewide elected official, a baffling if brave move.

I'm guessing this is all early vote in Oklahoma? Any chance Mullin avoids the runoff? I would've guessed that Shannon is the more base-friendly candidate, relatively speaking, and so he'd gain in day-of votes. Seems unlikely that Holland will leapfrog Shannon.

I wonder if, given how polarized things currently are, Hofmeister will perform about the same as a standard/longtime Democrat candidate, or if there'll be any interesting over- or underperformances in certain areas by her in the general.

IL-07 just got much closer as Suburban Cook dropped a bunch of votes. Davis now leads Collins 50.7-46.8.

Fun stuff going on in Mullin's district, where there's a gap of just under 4% between first and fifth place, and the sixth place candidate is leading in the district's largest county (with some votes there still outstanding).

Guest winning isn't a defeat for Trump since he never endorsed him.
But it's still the saddest moment of today because he was a real populist defeated by millions of dollars from Kevin McCarthy flowing in to the district calling him a socialist.

Big win, Sean Casten is a great representative. Also I think this is the first loss for an incumbent DSA congresswoman in a primary.

Newman is not a DSA member/politician.
Oh sorry I thought she was, given all the specualtion about her being part of the squad

Justice Democrats yes, DSA no, I believe. She's an odd case of someone who basically ran as a Warren/Porter progressive and largely governed as a Squad member, and the bribery scandal sort of made clear why.

Guest voted for the commission so him winning is effectively a Trump defeat.

Eh that's not really true. She's pretty vocal on Israel/Palestine, but besides that she's pretty much a standard/normie progressive like a Mondaire Jones or Raul Grijalva and isn't a firebrand, voted for bipartisan infrastructure bill, and doesn't associate herself with the Squad at all.

Wait actually - why are CNN's results in IL-15 so drastically different from NYT?

Apparently AP Votecast and Edison Research have different numbers.  538's live blog posted this about 15 minutes ago:

Quote
With 28 percent of the expected vote reporting in Illinois’s 15th District, different sources say different things about its Republican primary. According to Edison Research, Miller leads Davis only 51 percent to 49 percent. But according to the Associated Press, Miller leads 59 percent to 41 percent.

Wow, Dem ahead by 5% in NE-01 with 71% in.

Only early votes reporting from every county.  ABC News says 35% reporting, which makes more sense.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/nebraska-2022-primary-election-results/story?id=84596290

That would still make more sense. Found the NYT results page and they have it at 42% in.

Regardless is Pansing Brooks can keep it somewhat close it would be a big surprise.
