You should note two things; the first is the fact that I am not going to appoint someone to this position who's views on foreign and defense issues are entirely incompatible with mine. It is unreasonable to expect me to do so.

Was that the reason behind me being removed from the position? I'm not trying to be awkward here, I was just never told why.

On behalf of Everett, I hereby nominate myself for position of Secretary of External Affairs. My first act of office would be abbreviate the title as S.Ex. Affairs because that is hilarious.

I know none of you are familiar with my stances on.. well, everything, which is why I make an excellent candidate. There is no way that you can be let down if you have no expectations.

I realize we dont get along great on this issue, but im not as idealist as I seem. As you see with my helping pass of the Military Readiness bill, I am ready not only to work with partners for the benefit of relations, but I do have Altasia's interests in mind. WIth that, I announce that I would like to be considered also for the position of SOEA.

Where do we get another Senator from?

Plus elections are really soon, and Clay has mentioned he wanted to run before I decided to run for re-election, which I will change if I am appointed.

And everything gets confusing again.

Mind if I reconsider everything after some sleep?

Any concerns; P.M me. Thanks.

Take your time, Mr. President. No rush here. I doubt the senate will begin work on the case again until well into tomorrow anyway.

Bearing in mind the speed the Senate traditionally works at, I think it might be safe to wait a week Grin

After taking recent developments (which came as a suprise to me) and so on into account, I appoint Speedy as Sec. of Ex.

Hugh is appointed Ambassador to Australia.
Phil is appointed as Ambassador to Iraq.

Thank you Al, I consider this a great honor. I would like to say to the senate that I promise to put my politics aside while holding this office and to always keep the interests of Atlasia on the world scale my number 1 priority, no matter the situation, and I hope you have enough confidence in me to confirm me to this position.

Umm...does someone vote in my place, or do I just auto-abstain? Smiley

I thank the President for his reconsideration. A fine victory for Atlasia despite the President's nice swipe at me in the process.

O.K, so a replacement SoFA has to be found. And a replacement GM as well.

I'm sure both will be easy to find.

For SoFA I appoint Akno.

Obviously this appointment is kida urgent, so it would be nice if the Senate could be quick about this.

Yes. Very quick. Elections are in a few days time and someone does need to count the votes and all that. Hello? Hello?

If there is no SoFA, you have the authority to get another member of the cabinet to do the job.

Section 9 Clause 1 of the CESRA
Whenever possible, the Secretary of Forum Affairs, or the Deputy Secretary of Forum Affairs, shall be the administrator of the voting booth. If both shall be absent or unable to administer the voting booth, then the President shall designate an executive officer to do so instead.

The Administration is... pleased... that the issue of the game's future has been raised again.
It hopes to be able to take... action... on this issue at some point in the future.

The reasons for doing the following thing should be made clear; 1, the post of GM needs to be filled urgently, 2, I've not been able to find anyone willing to fill the post (for obvious reasons; hey I turned it down myself a few months ago).

Anyways...

1. I appoint myself GM
2. I hereby resign as President

I'm not entirely sure quite how the appointment of a GM is supposed to happen; the GM Act mentions the advice and consent of the Senate though. I'd be happy to go through a confirmation process or the like.
