I originally posted that she had the hairstyle common to women who've had facelifts, but I deleted it, because she doesn't - you can see the skin in front of her ears that people try to cover up to hide the facelift scars.

She probably has restylane injections to bulk up her cheekbones. Especially because she's so physically active and thin, that can make your face look drawn. It's hard to be a woman in politics.

Perhaps. I wanted to use another term to describe her, but I restrained myself. What I'll say about Noem is that she definitely has held the line against coronavirus restrictions throughout the pandemic. To my knowledge, South Dakota never imposed a mask mandate or imposed widespread lockdowns like many other states did. And they were heavily criticized for that.

She - and all Conservative politicians - want to avoid questions like these like the Plague.  They do not want to answer for their policies - they just want to win the endorsements of the religious right.  Some of them may not even believe in crusading against gays and trans, but they're willing to do it to obtain power.

I think it’s completely inappropriate for her to mock entire groups of people when signing such an important bill into law. She also should have reached out to Democrats before signing it and listened to their concerns and objections. This is what bothers me about politicians like Noem and other partisans today — when they know they’re in the majority and have the votes to pass a consequential bill like this, they don’t even feel the need to reach out to the other side. Where are the Republicans in the state legislature who threatened to vote NO on this bill if there wasn’t sufficient input from the other side? Probably non-existent, because this is what American politics has come to.

 This is true. Mocking is an incorrect insertion into the thread title.

However, it is beyond clueless. As the woman Yeah signs legislation excluding trans people further to the margins of life by the very governor of their state, and and she muses outloud as to what could possibly be causing all the great amount of mental illness and suicide attempts by the trans community. What a head scratcher Is she implies without the slightest bit of self awareness. Just disgusting.
