Schools require it so whenever I go to school I have to wear one. Since every single person at my school is vaccinated we'll be unmasking in early March.
It seems more likely than not *knocks on wood* that NYS will drop the mandate in early March. Considering how red the area is, I don't think it is likely that school will mandate masks afterwards *knocks on wood*, but if they do, even fewer people would follow it, as most precautions are just for show

Almost every single day... mask mandate and omicron isn't officially over yet.
Omicron will never be "officially" over
I haven't seen Ontario hospitalizations and cases get to a low enough number and stay there for a week yet, and also I'm not looking at the numbers too closely yet seeing as there's still a mandate anyways.

My job requires them, so I’ve worn masks for most of 2022 at least in a workplace setting. Outside of work I only worn a mask when I was on the train and in NYC at the beginning of January.

Sadly my school requires it and I went to the Dentist's office to remove my wisdom teeth yesterday.

Aren't you a little young for that?
My teeth became adult teeth early and my braces were taken off last year.

Masks shouldn’t be a political symbol. If they are to you then you’re part of the problem.

Yes----

Work mandatory
Indoor Places mandatory

Quite frankly it doesn't bother me a bit.

My Wife just had a client die the other week from her previous caregiving job where there was an infestation of COVID spread by an employee.

Even fully vaccinated and boosted individuals can spread the disease, and although Omicron is generally less lethal than Delta for vaccinated individuals, it is much more highly transmittable which is why the US Body Bags have been stacking up at even higher rates than Delta.

Sorry if Atlas Millennials want to party like it's Y2K and are tired of having to wear masks, worrying about having dates and "hook-up" sessions.

You are all killing us while you walz around pretending it's over.

And it should never be. It's endemic and not something we should be concerned about being over, so long as everyone is vaccinated.

I have 7 masks in my car.

Only once while visiting someone in the hospital.

There are no mandates here and most places have the "meh, wear 'em if you got 'em" signs up.

I see more mask wearing by people walking around outside in Hoboken than I think I have ever seen. Even I don't do that although I try to keep my distance and avoid crowded areas. Most businesses require a mask to enter.

Yes.  My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Crystal City/Pentagon City (and possibly of all Arlington County)--Kabob Palace--still requires it upon entry.
You are a Kabob Palace patron!?!?!  That is a great establishment.
They know me on a first-name basis.    They never once closed down during the pandemic.

#4 lamb kabob.

Salad

With 4 extra sauce.

That's a lotta sauce!

My tradition for the last decade has been to get a KP veggie platter immediately before going to the airport for extended overseas assignments for work and then stopping there again immediately after landing at DCA from such assignments. I miss those trips. Also used to work on Crystal Drive for a year or so back in the day and probably had KP once a week.

The only time I've ever been forced to wear a mask this year was when I went to Wartburg College for a festival thing. Besides that, all my mask-wearing this year has been voluntary.

Most businesses require a mask to enter.

Sincere question - Are they enforcing this?  As I noted, almost every business has a please and thank you sign but I've never seen any refuse to let someone in for not wearing one, or even confront anyone, especially since mask wearing is at a low percentile here (Biden County).

Yes, but mostly when it’s required, such as when at doctors’s offices, and during Lyft rides.

Compliance is very high in Hoboken. And almost everyone is vaxed. So I am not sure what would happen if someone ignored the mask rule.

Today they've finally removed the mask mandate at work, so yes up until now I've had to wear one whenever coming into the office.  There's still a mask mandate on the train I take to get to work though, so will still have to keep wearing one for the commute for the foreseeable future.

(Granted, attendance at work is optional, as I can also work from home.  But it's boring to sit at home every single day.  Plus, work has free food.)

Similar in Chicago. We've been under mandate since 8/21/21, so people are very used to it now. Occasionally you see someone ignoring it but no one really cares (much to that person's chagrin, probably).

For the full workday (informally mandated for now).
Also in supermarkets, the cinema, trains and the library.

Yeah, my job still requires it and same goes for medical facilities around here. I also occasionally put one on if the majority of people nearby are wearing one.

Very bad news.  I thought it was Kabob Palace that I liked but really I was thinking of the Shawarma Express nextdoor.
