Well-known poster.

I'm going to go against the grain and say HP, actually. I don't think he's a bad poster and he means well, but I have severe disagreements with him on important issues.

Often annoying, but excused based on his age, so I vote FF.

That's fine.  Interestingly enough, those are some of my favorite posters.  I have a nice list of Dem and socialist avatars that I really like.

It's not even really the fact that we disagree; it's his general attitude. I disagree with plenty of posters I'm on fairly good terms with - GregTheGreat, West_Midlander and Christian Man are three such examples. It's threads like these: https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=483111.0 , where he delves into hyperbolic and extremely banal and disengenous right-wing talking points and questions whether legitimate public health officials such as Fauci who've been studying this stuff since before he's been born are worth their salt (notice how he puts "officials" in brackets). I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but this is exactly the way some right-wingers behave when it comes to climate change and scientists and I don't tolerate it when people who have no clue on a subject question how much someone who's a literal expert on the subject, knows about that subject (which is exactly what he's doing here). I think only a few very right-wing posters would actually think they know more than experts on the subject, and it appears Ishan may be in their ranks. That's what really warrants the HP vote at the end of the day.

I get your post / point of view as well - it does seem churlish of me to say he's an HP because I disagree with him, but with this context being given, I think and hope what I meant (that he's an HP because he's one of those arrogant people who thinks they know more than / doesn't trust actual experts) has become clear.

EDIT: Clearly people do understand my issue with Ishan's post better now since the number of HP votes just doubled from 2 to 4.

Well let me put it this way, I either assume people who suddenly go from super left wing when they don’t have to do anything to almost libertarian once they get told to do something pretty easy for the common good are just a bit…slow or lowkey HP. Ishan is one of the brightest people I have seen on here…so it’s not the first. He has a great future, I’ll give him that for sure.

Funnily enough, I don't see the ageist line come out again like it did for flyingmongoose, and  you aren't chiding Ishan for being a kid who lacks perspective (he and flyingmongoose both do to the extent that all kids do). So I guess if a poster is a kid and you don't like them, they are "difficult to take at all seriously" and should not be taken seriously until they are adults (I actually do agree to an extent, to be clear - posters who are kids should be taken slightly less seriously on certain issues where being an adult provides additional perspective), but if you do like them, it's simply "has a good head on his shoulders?" I really don't want to derail this thread and get off-topic, but it just annoys me that you've taken a 180 on this subject in a matter of five days...or maybe it's a double standard?

What kind of garbage poll format is this?

If you are slightly left-of-centre, vote D or D leaning. If you are slightly right-of-centre, vote R or R leaning. If you really can't pick, just go with either one of them.

FF. For all the posts talking about how he's twelve or whatever I had no idea he was a kid until fairly recently, most of the time he very much reads as "some guy" instead of "I am a teenager".

FF, but I boycott this poll do its refusal to adhere to the classic FF v HP binary. Extracting political divergence statistics in an opinion thread is pointless.

Do my posts really read that differently? I didn't think they sounded like lol I'm depressed like seriously I have OCD but my IQ is 140 so I'm smart according to this thing I saw on TikTok, personally.

In fairness I don't think anyone is calling you out or saying you post like a teenager. I think all Oakvale said/meant was that Ishan' posting would suggest he is significantly older than the teenager he really is.

Yes also I have no idea who this guy is so couldn't make any judgement on his posting style.

I like the formatting of this question as it interests me to see whether or not D/R-leanings agree/disagree more with a poster. Anyways, we disagree on a lot but he seems like a nice enough guy.
