No to both the title question (I own no dog, period) and the question asked in the OP.

Lacey likes Labs. She will catch one and drag it away at the dog park and keep them to herself and howl at any other dog that tries to play with them.

Somebody found this dog in the woods, we don't really know where she came from. Keep telling my parents they should get a DNA test but they think it's ridiculous to drop $150 on a dog DNA kit

That's actually a pretty common story for hound dogs. There's usually a place where dogs go to if they get lost from their hunters but sometimes hunters will abandon their dogs their if they can't hunt.

I fostered a hound (beagle) named Dixie June for a long while. I'd love a Black & Tan Coonhound, but I don't have the right kind of home for a hound.

One of my dogs came from that sort of scenario, just not cut loose in the woods. She was bred for hog hunting but didn't cut it as a hog dog and it turned into a "someone take this dog or I'll get rid of her myself" situation (implying he'd shoot her).

That's North Florida. I got mine because we really wanted a dog but only older pit bulls weren't adopted at the city shelters and the pet store dogs were $2500. So I looked on craigslist and eventually saw an ad for some other dog, but found that they were sold out and had "beagles" instead. I still had to pay $450 and the dog turned out to be what I said it was above, weighing 44 pounds. The thing is now that because I bought the dog and didn't rescue her, she actually does have all these hunting instincts. She's consistently the loudest dog wherever we go except for this big black and tan coonhound that I saw.
