The question is as in the title. If we were to assume that neither Trump or Biden runs for reelection, and that Kamala Harris somehow does not obtain the Democratic presidential nomination, who would win? Would it be Jared Polis, the Democratic Governor of Colorado? Or Ron DeSantis, the Republican Governor of Florida? What would the electoral map look like? I'd be interested to see your maps and opinions below.

A little closer than 2020, but I think the fundamentals are the same. De Santis will be stronger in Georgia because of proximity, but the biggest problem for him is that he won't be able to run as the anti-lockdown candidate when Polis had the strongest pandemic record in terms of preserving a sense of normalcy among any Democrat.

Much like Trump tried to run against Sanders instead of Biden and failed, De Santis will try to run against Whitmer instead of Polis and fail.

I'd strongly consider voting for Polis in this scenario, but it would depend on how the economy is doing in 2024.
