QAnon, and comparing the two of these is disingenuous for several reasons.

There are no fatalities from “Russia gate”(whatever that crap means). Qanon on the other hands.

As dumb as Russiagate was, QAnon had some really ridiculous prophecies.

Clearly Qanon, which seems to be an amorphous amalgamation of various conspiracy theories without any true basis in reality. At least with Russiagate, there was some basis to it (Russia was actively trying to influence voters in the election), even if it wasn't as extensive and influential as the Russiagate proponents made it out to be. Qanon is just detached from reality and wouldn't even be believable if it were a script for an over-the-top Hollywood political thriller.

Russiagate was bad and I am glad to see that people are starting to distance themselves from that mess, but QAnon takes the cake by a mile in terms of sheer insanity.

QAnon is more insane, but Russiagate has been more damaging to our politics/discourse for how much mainstream airtime it has been given.

Russiagate is largely true, if overstated, but that's a reap-what-you-sow sort of thing anyway. The only outlandish about it is the myopia proponents give to it.

QAnon is completely baseless.

Russiagate is excessive hyperbole; QAnon is trolling.

You clearly know nothing about QAnon if you think that it's just "trolling".

It should not be treated as a joke. It's a seriously dangerous conspiracy theory that has infected millions of minds.

QAnon almost certainly started as trolling and I don't think Nathan meant to imply that trolling is necessarily harmless, by any means.
