Can't think of anything big that happened on my birthday in 2021.

As for 2020, David Perdue made his "Kamala" comment. I think that comment, plus Ossoff's resultant fundraising surge, ended up forcing the runoff that allowed Democrats to take the Senate.

August 11

2021? Not much. It was the day after Cuomo announced his soon-to-be resignation, so Kathy Hochul had a fair amount of news coverage on my birthday. Newsom also announced a vaccine mandate for California teachers, the Taliban was rapidly approaching Kabul before taking over on the 15th, and according to news headlines, the FDA being set to authorize the boosters was also making news.

2020? Kamala Harris becoming Biden's running mate was announced on this day, although I unfortunately couldn't talk about it after learning about it on TV because a massive derecho struck the entire state of Iowa the day before and wiped out my internet. Wish people paid more attention to that, it was a big deal.

Additionally, that day in 1984 was when Reagan made his "we begin bombing in five minutes" joke, the last American ground combat unit left South Vietnam in 1972, and I share a birthday with famed President-for-One-Day David Rice Atchison.

I don't know if anything did, but the last really notable political event that occurred on my birthday was the first impeachment of Trump passing the House.

Only thing I remember was that Washington State's redistricting commission missed the deadline to present their proposed map. I remember because I was thinking "ooh, I get a new congressional map for my birthday" and then I didn't get it.

Can't think of anything for my 23rd, but on my 13th, President Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden.

I'm just glad I was born on January 4th, and not the 3rd or 6th.
