Yup. It's allowed me to stay-in-touch with people with whom I'd have otherwise lost contact... but it's also destroying our democracy.

I think this is far too one-dimensional. It is being used by certain elements for that purpose, yes - but they existed long before social media and still would if it vanished tomorrow.
