A Kamala Harris SCOTUS nomination would be something to see.

Maybe its Sotomayor.  She has become increasingly mentally unhinged thanks to Covid and now refuses to be in the same room as unmasked people, despite presumably being fully vaccinated.  Since she's too afraid to attend in person work-related meetings, seems possible she's going to retire soon realizing that Covid is never going away.

How’s Jackson’s tenure been on the DC Circuit?

Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema will likely vote against whoever Joe Biden nominates, while Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Mitt Romney will likely vote in favor.

If it's Jackson, they both voted to confirm her to her current Judgeship, so I don't see why they'd oppose her nomination now. No worries about the filibuster either.

This is why Biden can't just go nuts on Joe Manchin.

Please stop talking about nuts and nutting in a story being floated by Jeffrey Toobin.  We've suffered enough trauma.

I would easily give you 10:1 odds that Sinema votes in favor of any Biden nominee that gets a vote in the Senate.  There is absolutely no reason to believe she would defect in this particular area.

And I highly doubt Manchin would vote against a Biden nominee either.  He's voted for ever Biden judicial nominee so far (as has every other Democrat).  And the only cabinet nominee he opposed (Tanden) was likely rooted in a personal situation involving his daughter.

Kamala Harris would honestly be a terrific pick.  She's a very bright and qualified person who's on the right side of almost every issue, but seems to have horrible political instincts and no real electoral constituency.  She's a little only the old side, but just barely.  And this would allow Biden to nominate a new VP with actual appeal to Latinos.

That is possible. Maybe Sonia Sotomayer and Stephen Breyer both retire. Kantaji Brown Jackson and John Michael Vazquez (New Jersey District Court Judge) would make great picks. They aren’t that old either and could be on the court for 4 decades easily.

It should be both of them, especially Thomas - a famous sexual assaulter who belongs off the court ASAP.

Yes it is Thomas isn't retiring he is healthy and neither is Alito

Regardless it's KENTAJI BROWN Jackson, I predicted that Breyer will retire it was 50/50

This will definitely energize D's for the Midterms, it's still 50/50. Breyer retired why would he stay on Biden is gonna get reelected anyways

Thomas retiring and his replacement being chosen by Joe Biden would be an irony of history after Anita Hill.

It's not going to happen, obviously, unless Thomas drops dead while Democrats have the senate.

I think the reporting was that he also opposed Omarova but so did a handful of other Dems.
