To honor the Labor Party of Atlasia and its contributions to the Republic

Be it enacted by the Senate of the Republic of Atlasia assembled,

Section 1. Title

This legislation may be cited as the Nathan-Antonio Day Act.

Section 2. Establishment of Federal Holiday

1. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Labor Party of Atlasia, and in honor of the founder and first chairman of the Labor Party, Sunday, the thirtieth of January, two thousand and twenty-two, is hereby designated "Nathan-Antonio Day", to be celebrated across Atlasia.

2. Nathan-Antonio Day is established as a full federal holiday for the Republic of Atlasia, and will continued to be celebrated as such annually on the thirtieth of January.

3. Annual festivities to honor the Labor Party will take place in Nyman.

It's not a question of 'anti-fun'; it's question of the government itself not forcing people to conform to its views and not respect the views of conservatives who oppose Labor. These political differences must be recognized (enough people support the Federalists, and the Atlasia is not monolithically for Labor, as the election results plainly show) and respected (and thus this bill cannot be passed). I would with as much vigour oppose this bill if it sought to honour Yankee and other prominent Federalists, and attempted to create a federal holiday for them. Federal holidays are reserved for things above politics. Let's keep it that way.

I still intend to strike out section 3 if this passes, and I'd also fix the language in the bill so that it's more about the people the holiday is intended to honor.
