AN ACT
To honor the Labor Party of Atlasia and its contributions to the Republic

Be it enacted by the Senate of the Republic of Atlasia assembled,

Section 1. Title

This legislation may be cited as the Nathan-Antonio Day Act.

Section 2. Establishment of Federal Holiday

1. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Labor Party of Atlasia, and in honor of the founder and first chairman of the Labor Party, Sunday, the thirtieth of January, two thousand and twenty-two, is hereby designated "Nathan-Antonio Day", to be celebrated across Atlasia.

2. Nathan-Antonio Day is established as a full federal holiday for the Republic of Atlasia, and will continued to be celebrated as such annually on the thirtieth of January.

3. Annual festivities to honor the Labor Party will take place in Nyman.

4. Annually, at 12-o’clock noon on the thirtieth of January, The Red Flag, shall be played on all radio and TV stations across Atlasia, and at the National Mall in Nyman.

This January will mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Labor Party, and I think it is only proper to celebrate and recognize the party for all it’s contributions and improvements it has made to Atlasian society. For the last 2 years we have seen a Labor government, and clearly you can see the results. In particular, this holiday will recognize two of Labor’s founders, who are upstanding individuals in their own right: Nathan and Antonio.

Pretty sure section 4 is unconstitutional, but naturally I would support commemorating these two FFs with a holiday.

So firstly, §4 is a nonstarter.

Secondly, while the Labor Party has every right to throw festivities for its supporters out of its own funds, I am not exactly on board with having all taxpayers regardless of partisan affiliation foot the bill for those. Feel free to change my mind however.

I tend to agree. Section 3 is also extremely vague.

Funding aside, a holiday is just a holiday, and I think it's fair to say that Nathan and Antonio have both contributed substantially to this forum, especially outside AFE.

I don't want any cult worship of Labor which is why if it passes, I'm editing the last two sections out and making the day specifically for Nathan and Antonio, both of whom have had limited-to-no participation in the game for most of the last decade but are also top-tier posters who've earned a wide array of respect from all sides from their time on other boards. Just make it simple and call them official FFs or whatever. We don't need holidays for political parties.

And yeah, I realize I'm being Labor's stick in the mud again. But the game has become so hyper-focused on personality that it's lost most of the charm.
