Republicans, who by this point hated Obama, certainly weren't going to vote for another black man (though they might have made an exception for someone like Tim Scott, but that isn't certain), and that isn't even getting into the fact that Cain's sexual assaults wouldn't disappear. If they didn't come out in the primary, the Obama campaign would bring them up in the general election.

GA is plausible. Hell even MO is reaching for the skies at this point, but SC & TX are highly, highly unlikely to ever vote for Obama. He'd sooner win back IN or flip AZ.
